Field Service Electrical Engineer

BRUSH power generation products enhances Baker Hughes portfolio of electromechanical equipment, including electric generators, synchronous condensers, electric motors, and associated control power management systems.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning High Voltage Generators, Motors, Synchronous condensers, Power management systems (PMS), Electrical protection systems, Excitation Controllers (AVRs), and Synchronizing equipment.
• Performing role while applying company health and safety procedures applicable to the job site.
• Conducting upgrades to AVRS, PMS systems, Synchronizers, Protection relays and other control elements.
• Carrying out electrical testing on high and low voltage equipment and machine windings in the field.
• Practicing some degree of project management at site.
• Delivering training on Brush products to clients and field service colleagues.
• Interpreting technical drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
• Attend technical meetings on site and at customers’ premises.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or completed and/or a recognized craft apprenticeship in electrical engineering with demonstrated experience in the field.
• High level knowledge of electrical power generation and distribution systems for industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of networking systems such as Modbus, Ethernet, 61850, Fiber.
• Self reliant, resourceful and a problem solver with well developed commercial awareness.
• Experienced in representing the Company at customers’ sites and operating remotely on own initiative.
• Able to work with Company’s rules and guidance notes on health and safety.
• Able and willingness to travel when called upon and on short notice on a regular basis 75% - 85% of the time.
