About the position

The Field Service Engineer position at Abbott involves providing on-site technical support for medical instrumentation within the Abbott Diagnostic Division. The role focuses on ensuring customer satisfaction through effective troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of diagnostic equipment. The engineer will work closely with customers and internal teams to achieve business objectives and maintain high standards of service quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support to Abbott Diagnostic Division customers.
• Act as a trusted partner to existing customers.
• Support district business objectives and goals.
• Mentor other Field Service Representatives (FSRs).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complaints related to complex medical instruments.
• Document complaint resolutions accurately and timely, adhering to regulatory and compliance procedures.
• Schedule and complete routine preventive maintenance and installations.
• Work effectively within a diverse team environment.
• Support on-call rotation and manage territory and inventory.
• Travel for support of other territories and training as needed.
• Maintain ownership of customer issues until resolution or handoff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
