About the position

In this role as a Field Service Engineer specializing in MR, CT, and Nuclear Medicine, you will be at the forefront of customer relationship management, utilizing your technical expertise to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain medical imaging equipment at various customer sites. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the equipment operates efficiently and effectively, thereby improving the quality of healthcare services provided to patients. You will be tasked with building, deploying, and integrating advanced medical imaging solutions, which requires a deep understanding of the technology and its applications in a clinical setting. You will also be responsible for resolving technical issues that arise during the operation of the equipment, providing proactive technical support to customers, and documenting solutions to facilitate ongoing support and development. This documentation is crucial as it allows support teams and other consultants to understand the issues and solutions, ensuring a seamless service experience for the customer. The role requires significant travel across the specified geography, with an average driving time of 1-4 hours daily, and at times, travel may exceed 50%. Occasional overnight stays and travel by air or train may also be necessary, emphasizing the need for flexibility in your schedule. To succeed in this position, you will need to have a strong background in medical imaging service environments, with at least 5 years of experience in the field or hospital-based settings. An Associate Degree in electronics is required, although a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. You must be capable of working in various environments, including office settings and healthcare facilities, and be prepared to adhere to safety protocols, especially when working with radiation sources and radioactive materials. This role may also require you to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call rotations, to meet the needs of the business and the customers you serve.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain MR, CT, and Nuclear Medicine equipment at customer sites.
  • Build, deploy, and integrate medical imaging solutions.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide proactive technical support to customers.
  • Document solutions to ensure support teams and consultants can participate in ongoing support and development.
  • Travel across specified geography, averaging 1-4 hours of driving daily, with potential for overnight stays and air/train travel.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a medical imaging service environment (field or hospital-based).
  • Experience in installing, diagnosing, and repairing medical imaging equipment.
  • Associate Degree in electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience; BSEE/BSEET/BSME/BSMET preferred.
  • Ability to work in an office/home office and/or remote setting, as well as in a hospital/healthcare environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call rotations.
  • Ability to safely work with radiation sources and/or radioactive materials.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with customer relationship management in a technical support role.
  • Familiarity with documentation practices for technical solutions.
