About the position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support Engine Sustainment at the Air Force Test Center located at Edwards AFB, California. This position is critical in providing planning and technical support for engine maintenance, systems troubleshooting, and the sustainment of support equipment, materials, and processes. The FSE will work in a high visibility, team-oriented environment, interacting with propulsion systems, aircraft, and engine ground test stands. The role requires close collaboration with Pratt & Whitney Engineering, technicians, and military personnel to resolve technical and logistical issues related to propulsion system operation and maintenance. The FSE will also be responsible for identifying problems, conducting investigations to determine root causes, and coordinating the resolution of field issues with the Pratt & Whitney Site Manager, Engineering, and Logistics Program Management team. Additionally, the FSE will team with other on-site personnel to achieve program goals, including Environmental Health & Safety, Employee Fulfillment, and Quality initiatives. The position requires flexibility in working hours, as the FSE must be willing to work both 1st and 2nd shifts on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide planning and technical support on engine maintenance and systems troubleshooting.
  • Sustain support equipment, materials, and processes related to engine operations.
  • Interact with propulsion systems, aircraft, and engine ground test stands.
  • Collaborate with Pratt & Whitney Engineering and technicians to resolve technical and logistical problems.
  • Identify problems and conduct investigations to resolve root causes.
  • Coordinate resolution of field issues with the Pratt & Whitney Site Manager and Engineering teams.
  • Achieve program, Environmental Health & Safety, Employee Fulfillment, and Quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. in a related engineering/technical field is required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in turbo-machinery propulsion systems, engine assembly planning, flight/development test engineering, or engine/aircraft maintenance.
  • 3+ years proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Clearance within 12-18 months is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
