We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support our industrial aftermarket sales and service of bearings, maintenance tools and condition monitoring products. Primary territory responsibility: AZ, NM, UT, WY, NV, MT. Candidates must reside near Salt Lake City, UT or Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities

  • Foster positive relationships with Schaeffler customers by delivering high-quality support and service.
  • Serve as the first line of technical support for customers and the sales team, ensuring swift resolution of inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application and equipment issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct technical training on bearing reliability, installation procedures, lubrication, and product offerings.
  • Perform on-site bearing inspections and failure analysis, providing detailed reports to customers.
  • Assist customers with the proper techniques for bearing mounting and dismounting to ensure optimal performance.
  • Be available for on-site support during maintenance shutdowns, providing hands-on assistance when needed.
  • Actively support Schaeffler product sales, including bearings, tools, lubrication systems, and condition monitoring equipment, as part of the field team.
  • Gather and document critical customer bearing and application data, sharing insights with the Schaeffler Industrial sales group, Industry Managers, and Product Line Managers.
  • Deliver value-added services that result in documented cost savings for customers, enhancing their overall experience with Schaeffler products.
  • Leverage product and industry expertise to effectively present product features tailored to solve specific application challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in field service engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years as a Maintenance Planner, Supervisor, or Engineering with hands-on expertise in mining, cement or comparable heavy industries.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance and reliability solutions applicable to relevant industrial sectors.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% overnight to support Schaeffler customers as needed.
  • Technology competent, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to utilize CRM systems, including Salesforce.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen actively, and effectively convey information through oral, written, and presentation channels.
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship.
