About the position

We are looking for a dedicated Field Service Engineer who will serve as the face of our company in the field and to our customers, with a strong emphasis on the service aspect of the role. This position involves a variety of responsibilities including the start-up, commissioning, and training of the equipment we sell. The Field Service Engineer will also be tasked with equipment evaluation and maintenance, ensuring that our products are functioning optimally and meeting customer expectations. When not engaged in fieldwork, the engineer will work on internal projects at our High Ridge facilities, contributing to the overall success of our operations. The role requires a significant amount of travel, which may account for up to 30% of your time. This travel may include international trips to locations such as Canada and Australia, necessitating a valid passport and a willingness to be away from home for up to 14 days at a time. The company will cover travel expenses, including mileage reimbursement, ensuring that you are supported while fulfilling your duties in the field. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is passionate about providing excellent service to customers while representing our company with professionalism and expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Perform start-up and commissioning of equipment sold by the company.
  • Provide training to customers on equipment operation as required.
  • Conduct equipment evaluation and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work on internal projects at the High Ridge facilities when not in the field.
  • Travel to customer sites, including international locations, to provide service and support.

Requirements

  • 3 years of service experience in a technical role.
  • 5+ years of electrical and mechanical experience.
  • Strong machine troubleshooting skills, including PLC, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Exemplary personal skills and high mechanical aptitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • PLC programming skills (not a requirement, but a plus).
  • Experience working in a technical service role.
  • Detailed knowledge of their work.
