About the position

The Field Service Engineer position is a critical role within our client's organization, a global leader in the design, manufacture, and installation of automated equipment. This role is primarily remote but requires extensive travel, with expectations of 80-90% travel both domestically and internationally. The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing automated equipment used across various industries, including manufacturing, heavy industrial, logistics/distribution, and sorting/handling. In this position, the engineer will design and execute on-site acceptance test procedures, ensuring that all equipment meets the required specifications and functions correctly. The role also involves creating and reviewing technical documentation to support the installation and maintenance of the equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electro-mechanical systems, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field is required. The Field Service Engineer must have a solid understanding of industrial power, electrical and control circuits, and devices, with a focus on PLC programming, particularly in SCO Unix, Linux, Siemens, and Allen Bradley systems. The ability to interpret circuit diagrams and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems is essential. Strong time management skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role, as the engineer will be working in various environments and must adapt to different challenges as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Commissioning automated equipment at customer sites.
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining automated equipment.
  • Repairing automated equipment as needed.
  • Designing and executing on-site acceptance test procedures.
  • Creating and reviewing technical documentation related to equipment installation and maintenance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Electro-Mechanical experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial power, electrical and control circuits and devices.
  • Experience with PLC programming, particularly in SCO Unix, Linux, Siemens, and Allen Bradley systems.
  • Ability to interpret circuit diagrams and troubleshoot Electro-Mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of Siemens S7 Ladder, STL programs, and all lines of Allen Bradley systems.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail skills.
