About the position

As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing field service support for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of company products and services. This position requires you to operate primarily from home while frequently traveling to client sites during normal office hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. However, it is important to note that you will often be required to travel outside of normal business hours, which will contribute significantly to your overtime hours. You can expect to accumulate 10-15 hours of overtime per week on average, as you work to ensure optimum customer satisfaction with all company products and services. Your responsibilities will include installing and maintaining wired computer networks, providing remote diagnosis and repair support, and relaying any repetitive field service failures or equipment issues to Tier 3 specialists. You will also be responsible for completing and submitting all necessary regulatory and company-required documentation. Additionally, you may represent the company at technical shows and exhibitions as required. This role demands a high level of customer service and the ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and supervisors in both formal and informal settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic and electrical process equipment and controls, with at least 4 years of military or industry experience. You will be expected to gain proficiency in various areas, including field service and product installation, as well as basic wired and wireless network integration. A solid understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the eye is also beneficial for this position. Your ability to produce high-quality work under pressure and within tight timelines, along with your dedication to teamwork and flexibility, will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide optimum customer satisfaction on all company products and services.
  • Install, monitor, assess, troubleshoot, and repair equipment within your assigned area of responsibility.
  • Install and maintain wired computer networks.
  • Provide remote diagnosis/repair support.
  • Relay repetitive field service failures/equipment issues to Tier 3 specialists.
  • Complete and submit regulatory and company required documentation.
  • Represent the company at technical shows and exhibitions as required.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of military or industry experience with electronic/electrical process equipment and controls.
  • Skills in operation, test, maintenance, alignment, and repair procedures for electrical equipment & controls.
  • Ability to produce high quality work under pressure and within tight timelines with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and supervisors in formal & informal settings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Dedication to the team and a sense of flexibility.
  • Ability to stand, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, & crawl, frequently lift more than 25lbs.
  • Color vision and the ability to see close objects.
  • Safe driving record.
