About the position

As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing onsite preventative and reactive field service to the installed base of the company's online inorganic trace metal and THM water quality analyzers. This position is based in Sunnyvale, CA, where you will report to the company's office half of the time to conduct in-house testing on the equipment you will be working on in the field. The other half of your time will be spent traveling regionally, primarily within the Sunnyvale area, with one week per month dedicated to overnight travel for a few days at a time. This role requires the use of your own vehicle, for which mileage reimbursement will be provided along with necessary tools. In this customer-facing role, you will be responsible for making repairs and ensuring the safe handling of chemical reagents. Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential, as you will need to comply with client health and safety policies while working onsite. Your responsibilities will include providing remote diagnostics, triage, and support for the company's installed base of analyzers, as well as installing new equipment and supporting the maintenance of the company's SafeGuard--- H2O water treatment systems. You will also contribute to the development of service and installation manuals and training materials, and work closely with the Product Design group to identify serviceability improvements and analyze root causes of non-performance events in the analyzers. Collaboration with the Client Services group will be key to optimizing the scheduling of maintenance visits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite preventative and reactive field service to the installed base of online inorganic trace metal and THM water quality analyzers.
  • Conduct in-house testing on equipment at the Sunnyvale office.
  • Perform electrical and fluidics troubleshooting as needed.
  • Make repairs and ensure safe handling of chemical reagents.
  • Provide remote diagnostics, triage, and support for the company's analyzers.
  • Install new inorganic, trace metal, and THM water quality analyzers.
  • Support installation and maintenance of the company's SafeGuard--- H2O water treatment systems.
  • Contribute to service and installation manuals and training materials.
  • Identify analyzer serviceability improvements and conduct root cause analysis of non-performance events.
  • Collaborate with the Client Services group to optimize scheduling of maintenance visits.

Requirements

  • Experience with electrical and fluidics troubleshooting.
  • Background in HVAC systems, building control systems, or plant control systems is beneficial.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical assembly or testing experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in a water or wastewater treatment environment is a plus.
  • Candidates from aerospace, chemical, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or military backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
