About the position

The Field Service Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific plays a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of hardware and automation products within the BEA division. This position involves repairing, installing, maintaining, and updating equipment while providing exceptional customer service and support. The engineer will work closely with customers to enhance their experience and satisfaction, contributing to the company's mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, maintain, and update Thermo Fisher hardware and automation products.
  • Provide instruments and equipment services, including installation, basic training, preventative maintenance, repair, and compliance services.
  • Contribute to high-value service-related procedures and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve customer experience.
  • Ensure prompt customer response times and effective problem resolution to cultivate customer satisfaction.
  • Provide up-to-date service reporting on customer activities.
  • Perform commissioning and qualification of equipment by completing Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and Installation/Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ) Protocols.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers in assigned territory.
  • Assist Service Sales Representative on service orders.
  • Support product quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in service optimization projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in computer technology, electrical engineering, automation, biology, or chemistry.
  • 2+ years of experience in bioprocessing, automated bioproduction, bioproduction equipment design/maintenance/software control, or bioprocessing chromatography.
  • Ability to identify, recommend, and prioritize improvements to customer experience and internal processes.
  • Experience with Delta V or other control software is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with global teams.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, PC hardware, and desktop applications.
  • Proficient in oral and written English.
