We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Engineer (FSE) to enhance our industrial aftermarket sales and service efforts in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Upper Michigan, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with customers while providing top-tier technical support and training.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with Schaeffler customers by delivering exceptional support and service.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for technical inquiries from customers and the sales team, resolving application and equipment issues efficiently.
  • Conduct on-site bearing inspections and perform failure analysis, providing detailed reports to customers.
  • Offer hands-on assistance with bearing mounting and dismounting processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Schaeffler Field Sales Representatives to promote bearings, maintenance tools, lubrication systems, and condition monitoring equipment.
  • Document vital customer information related to bearings and applications, sharing insights with the Schaeffler Industrial Sales Group, Industry Managers, and Product Line Managers.
  • Provide value-added services that result in documented cost savings for customers, demonstrating the impact of Schaeffler's offerings.
  • Develop expertise in product features and their application to address customer issues effectively.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of industry processes, equipment, and bearing applications pertinent to various key sectors including: Paper Manufacturing, Mining, Wind Energy, Electric Motor Repair, Pumps, Power Generation, Rail, Food Processing, Production Machinery, and Industrial Automation.
  • Independently manage a proactive schedule of customer visits to expand business opportunities and establish the FSE as a trusted resource.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in field service engineering.
  • In-depth expertise in bearing inspection techniques.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance and reliability solutions applicable to relevant industrial sectors.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% overnight to support Schaeffler customers as needed.
  • Technology competent, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to utilize CRM systems, including Salesforce.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen actively, and effectively convey information through oral, written, and presentation channels.
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship.
