About the position

This position is primarily responsible for supporting various SICK Services and Products throughout North America. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service by effectively managing customer expectations and supporting various Services Organization programs. The role involves building support structures and populating them with SICK equipment, which requires the use of hand tools and basic construction knowledge. The technician will be responsible for making electrical connections of SICK equipment and configuring SICK products utilizing a laptop and configuration software. Additionally, the technician will provide onsite commissioning of installed equipment following established criteria, perform onsite startup support, monitor installed equipment for proper operation, and make adjustments as needed. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and replacing SICK equipment is also a key responsibility of this role. Regular attendance and timeliness are essential, along with providing accurate and timely service reports, timecards, and travel expenses. The technician will also be required to attend training sessions as assigned and carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

Requirements

  • Two-year college degree, technical school or equivalent work experience required.
  • Four-year college degree is preferred.
  • 0 - 3 years of prior field service experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SOPAS and CLV Setup engineering software.
  • Ability to read basic CAD designs, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
