The technician will diagnose equipment problems and use their judgment to determine the best course of action for repair or replacement. This role requires independent work and frequent interaction with customers, necessitating strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach. The technician must also pass the Pepsi Pro certification within a specified timeframe to ensure compliance with company standards. The job entails physical demands, including lifting, carrying, pulling, and moving items weighing between 20 and 45 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday. The technician will often need to kneel, squat, crouch, crawl, and bend to make repairs, particularly in low spaces. Additionally, the role may require moving vending machines that weigh between 800 and 1200 pounds, which necessitates physical strength and stamina. The technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on marketing equipment, unloading and reloading products as necessary, and educating customers on basic equipment repair and upkeep procedures. They will also install equipment by making necessary connections for water and gas supply, as well as ensuring proper drainage for units with ice. The technician will drive to various locations, evaluate situations, and perform necessary work, which may include plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and carpentry tasks. Accurate documentation of equipment and customer information is essential, as is maintaining a parts inventory on the service truck. Establishing positive relationships with contacts during service calls is crucial for customer satisfaction and repeat business. The technician must adhere to all safety requirements and regulations while operating a company vehicle and complete all required training modules to build competence in diagnosing and repairing beverage industry equipment.
