The technician will be responsible for repairing virtually any part on these cranes, applying electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify operational electrical machinery, control equipment, and circuitry. Additionally, the role requires applying mechanical theory to test and modify operational machinery and equipment. The technician will operate mechanical boom and cable equipment to troubleshoot machine problems and evaluate the correctness and completeness of repairs performed on the machines. This position is specifically for the Eastern region of the United States, emphasizing the importance of punctuality, professional demeanor, and respectful communication with all levels of staff while promoting safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas. The technician will be expected to test mechanical products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specifications. Responsibilities include repairing and replacing damaged or worn parts, operating and inspecting machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects, dismantling and reassembling heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools, and performing routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles. The technician will also examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges, read and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings, and overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency. Furthermore, the technician will inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using various test instruments, verify dimensions and clearances of parts, complete assigned paperwork, and oversee the maintenance of quality standards through visual and mechanical inspection methods. Promoting a safe work environment by following established safety procedures and overseeing the handling and disposal of hazardous wastes is also a critical aspect of this role.
