About the position

This position is responsible for the financial management of our Firm Client Service (FCS) line of business. In this role, you'll oversee the financial statement, general ledger, financial analysis, and ad hoc management reports for enterprise-wide services lines such as Information Technology, Finance, Human Resources, and more. You'll partner with those FCS leaders to develop Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) and operating expense forecasts that align with the financial foundations. Throughout the year, you will work with those FCS leaders to ensure that the actual costs are aligned with the forecasts and the benchmarks. Essential duties include overseeing the accounting function for the tax groups that you support. This may include but is not limited to the monthly close process, journal entry review, and monthly reconciliation activities, as well as approving accounts payable entries and expense report reviews. All tasks must be completed in a timely manner and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Firm policies and processes. You will also oversee financial analysis for the tax functional leaders and their teams, focusing on FTEs and the operating expense general ledgers that each functional area is responsible for. Additionally, you will prepare and/or coordinate ad hoc reports, specialized projects, and analysis. You will collaborate with the FCS leaders to develop FTE and operating expense forecasts that meet established firmwide goals. Working closely with the leaders you support and other key stakeholders, you will assist in the execution of forecast commitments. Your role will also involve providing analysis of monthly financial results to leadership, interpreting current month and year-to-date performance as a predictive tool for attaining full-year performance expectations and implementing course corrections as necessary. You will review capital purchase budgets and monitor monthly purchases against the plan, specifically for our technology service lines, collaborating on planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities for enterprise technology solutions and business units' technology spend to increase accountability and ROI. Leadership duties may include providing leadership in the creation, interpretation, and communication of financial results to key stakeholders, ensuring leaders have appropriate access to information needed to effectively manage the business. You will act as a financial advisor to various tax leaders by understanding their respective businesses and providing insightful and value-added analysis of financial results. Regular meetings with the FCS leaders and other key stakeholders will be essential to assist them in effectively managing the financial aspects of the business.
