About the position

The Director of Finance, Regional Market/Service Line at Northeast Georgia Health System plays a crucial role in overseeing financial operations within assigned markets or service lines. This position involves a matrixed reporting structure, directly reporting to the Vice President of Financial Operations while also collaborating with operational leadership. The Director will be responsible for budget development, monitoring, productivity management, workforce management, and various related projects, acting as the primary liaison for all finance-related activities in their assigned areas.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the strategic plan for department services, including short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Collect and analyze feedback and evaluate service/department effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders across NGHS to refine tools, methods, and assure alignment with stakeholder departments.
  • Stay updated on recent trends in process innovation and organizational effectiveness in healthcare and other industries.
  • Manage finance and budget activities for assigned service lines, including Operating and Capital budgets.
  • Collaborate across departments to support hospital and operational service-line missions.
  • Assist clinical functions with compliance activities and tracking.
  • Support recruitment and retention activities and programs.
  • Work with operations leadership to reduce premium pay and support productivity standards.
  • Collaborate with national productivity benchmarking programs to develop staffing plans and productivity guidelines.
  • Engage with leaders on budget activities and financial IT systems.
  • Review and monitor monthly financial reports with operational leaders, recommending actions as appropriate.
  • Lead Dashboard activities for service-lines and develop appropriate reports and systems.
  • Mentor department leaders in budget and finance services.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and serve as a first-level reviewer for Operational Managers' work products.
  • Lead special projects that cross multiple service-lines and attend strategy meetings as a proxy for finance leadership.

Requirements

  • CPA or Master's degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred licensure or certifications in finance or accounting.
  • Preferred educational qualifications in finance or related fields.
