About the position

The Finance Manager in the Finance Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group at Amazon will play a crucial role in supporting the Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) teams. This position focuses on financial and portfolio analysis to drive strategic decision-making, collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization. The role requires a proactive individual with strong financial modeling skills and the ability to streamline operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, evaluate, and validate real estate data to ensure correctness and completeness.
  • Develop robust financial models to evaluate new business initiatives, investments, and strategic opportunities.
  • Conduct detailed scenario and sensitivity analyses to identify key financial drivers and assess potential risks and returns.
  • Perform market research, industry benchmarking, and competitive analysis to inform financial assumptions.
  • Leverage data visualization tools to effectively communicate complex financial information to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Analyze historical trends and market factors to build detailed financial projections, identifying key variances and trends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in multiple finance and accounting roles.
  • 6+ years of experience building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
  • 6+ years of experience participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
  • 6+ years of experience solving complex business challenges with accurate and timely financial models and analysis.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
