Responsibilities

  • Manages monthly closing process, including preparation of interim and year-end financial reports.
  • Directs staff in preparing consolidated financial statements for the Division.
  • Directs the preparation of reconciliations and supporting analysis for financial reports.
  • Organizes and directs posting of entries in general and subsidiary ledger.
  • Reviews monthly trial balances of general ledger.
  • Collaborates and supports the division's financial management and UMMH senior management in the preparation and analysis of financial reports and statistics to management boards, administration and outside organizations.
  • Devises and recommends new or modified accounting systems to provide complete and accurate financial and statistical reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Business Administration.
  • Five years' accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership.
  • Must possess technical and professional accounting skills, proven ability to develop accurate and effective financial and operating systems, and familiarity with data processing capabilities and procedures.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with experience in variance reports, financial models and specialized analysis.
  • Proficiency in PC based software applications.
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration.
  • CPA.
  • One year in a supervisory capacity.
