The Finance Manager role within the Financial Operations Expense Center of Excellence (Expense COE) is crucial for overseeing financial accounting, reporting, and process management for MetLife's Affiliated Transactions and Fixed Assets. This position requires a strong focus on GAAP and Statutory financial accounting, reporting, and analysis, with an emphasis on process improvement. The Finance Manager will work independently while also supporting and guiding the team, ensuring that the financial operations align with the company's goals and standards. The Expense COE is responsible for the governance, standards, and controls related to the enterprise's global expense infrastructure, accounting, allocations, management reporting, and analysis, and budget processes. The Finance Manager will provide guidance on inter-company, transfer pricing, and fixed asset accounting, oversee the preparation and processing of affiliate expense and fixed asset accounting transactions, and review and approve G/L journal entries and wire transfers for affiliated transactions. Additionally, the role involves supporting cash flow projections for US-based corporate service companies and ensuring compliance with SOX and internal audit controls. The Finance Manager will also oversee processes and training for offshore financial services support teams and support the preparation, review, and filing of GAAP and STAT financial statements. Partnering with internal and external teams to implement best practices and managing projects and initiatives are also key components of this role.
