As the Finance & Strategy Automation Manager, you will drive transformation strategy, automation, program and change management to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness across Block. You will lead process improvements for Block in the finance area, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in processes, reporting, and analytics among others. Collaboration with Financial Systems and Finance Teams will be key to accelerate system solution adoption using agile methodologies. You will oversee deliverables and documentation to maintain project cadence, analyze business needs and transformation objectives to provide recommendations based on industry best practices, and engage with stakeholders to understand business problems, gather requirements, and develop solutions. Your expertise in Financial technology will be crucial as you offer guidance, training, and support to teams and stakeholders. Staying updated on industry trends will allow you to recommend and implement innovative financial technology solutions. This role requires a self-starter who can work with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment from diverse backgrounds, including finance, systems & engineering, and data science. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong sense of business management are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Drive transformation strategy, automation, program and change management to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness across Block.
  • Lead process improvements for Block on the finance area, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in processes, reporting and analytics among others.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Self-starter, experience working with multiple stakeholders in a fast paced environment from diverse backgrounds (finance, systems & engineering, data science…)
  • Experience working with SQL and data visualization tools like Looker or Tableau
  • Proficiency in Gsuite (GSheets, GSlides, GDoc)
  • Working experience with Finance Applications like SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, Kyriba
  • Experience leading projects, including identifying requirements and managing partner expectations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and a demonstrated strong sense of business management; proven ability to develop new ideas and ability to deliver solutions.
