About the position

The Financial Accountant in the BDC Fund Accounting Department at Golub Capital is responsible for the financial and investor reporting associated with the company's Business Development Companies (BDCs). This role involves maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, and supporting various financial reporting and compliance activities. The position requires collaboration with multiple teams to ensure accurate reporting and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the accounting and financial reporting for the BDCs.
• Maintaining the general ledger and optimizing automated entries.
• Preparing the monthly and quarterly close package for senior management.
• Preparing quarterly and annual forecasts.
• Assisting the Investor Communications Team with capital calls, distributions, and IRR statements.
• Understanding the structure of the BDC and its subsidiaries.
• Completing SOX controls associated with month-end close process and quarterly reporting.
• Supporting the BDC Financial Reporting Team with information for independent auditors.
• Preparing quarterly reporting materials including investor presentations.
• Collaborating with team members to support the launch of potential new BDCs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
• CPA strongly encouraged
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in private equity, leveraged finance, or hedge fund
• Public accounting experience is strongly desired
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong accounting skills and instincts
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
