Join UPMC Corporate Finance as an Expert FP&A Financial Analyst! Are you a financial wizard with a knack for turning complex data into actionable insights? UPMC Corporate Finance is looking for a passionate and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team and take charge of our financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions.

Responsibilities

  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in line with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Develop comprehensive financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
  • Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of reported data.
  • Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering growth and excellence.
  • Analyze intricate financial data, extracting and defining relevant information to interpret past performance and project future financial probabilities.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events to aid users in making informed economic or business decisions.
  • Plan and conduct detailed studies to determine the cost of business activities, recommending budget adjustments and cost improvement measures.
  • Oversee and assist in coordinating the UPMC system-wide budgeting process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related business field required.
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience required.
  • A Master's degree or CPA license and four years of experience will also be considered.
  • High School Diploma/GED and seven years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in forecasting financial operations and budgeting experience required.
  • Ability to interact effectively with executives and business unit management required.
  • Excellent oral and written communications and time management skills are required.
  • Strong analytical ability and knowledge of accounting and financial reporting matters required.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency required.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA/MBA preferred.
  • Experience in the health care industry preferred.
  • Prior experience leading/supervising staff preferred.
  • PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
  • Knowledge of system operations preferred.
  • Successful completion of UPMC's Finance Management Rotation Program preferred.
