About the position

BHE Pipeline Group consists of Berkshire Hathaway Energy's interstate natural gas pipeline companies, BHE GT&S, Kern River Gas Transmission Company and Northern Natural Gas Company. Combined, BHE Pipeline Group operates approximately 21,200 miles of pipeline with a design capacity of approximately 21.1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day, owns assets in 27 states and transported approximately 15% of the total natural gas consumed in the U.S. during 2022. Responsibilities

• Compiles, consolidates, analyzes and prepares financial reports for forecasts and long-range financial plan.
• Supports various district/department management and staff and finance and accounting staff in analyzing and compiling forecasts and long-range financial plan.
• Provides meaningful and concise variance analysis of actual performance compared to plans, forecasts and prior periods.
• Maintains proprietary budget/forecast module, including cost responsibility and operations and maintenance budget/forecast reports, and understands underlying processes.
• Performs special projects and analysis as required.
• Provides technical input to assist in development of project planning.
• Makes recommendations for risks and opportunities.
• Performs any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.
• Four or more years' experience in financial accounting, financial planning, finance, public accounting or other related experience.
• Excellent communication skills oral and written, including the ability to interact well with all levels of management and team members.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and thorough understanding of accounting financial statements to facilitate modeling.
• Strong word processing skills and aptitude to effectively use proprietary and database software.
• Working knowledge of e-mail; presentation software is required.
• Effective interpersonal, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with knowledge of financial analysis methods and tools.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks under time constraints and function well under pressure.
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley and technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
