About the position

The Financial Analyst III position at the Department of State Treasurer is a full-time role focused on governmental accounting and financial management. Responsibilities

• Coordinate the approval and design of debt by local governments and public authorities, including various types of bonds and financing agreements.
• Provide financial advisory services to local governments and public authorities in preparation for issuing debt.
• Review the financial capability and responsibility of borrowers and analyze alternative financing structures.
• Participate in due diligence meetings and provide advice on debt structure methods.
• Prepare written financial analyses and reports, maintaining accurate data in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, banking, finance, business administration, economics, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• 3 years of directly related experience in accounting or public finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Thorough knowledge to analyze complex business and program issues and consult with management as needed.
• Proven ability to independently research and recommend changes to software.
• Expert knowledge of current federal, state, and local government programs.
• Experience in recommending and developing regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret compliance and communicate it in writing.
