About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Binding Minds involves managing credit risk through tracking exposure and collateral reports, processing margin calls, and ensuring accurate recording of collateral transactions. The role requires analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a focus on financial and audit purposes.

Responsibilities

• Tracks exposure and collateral reports to manage credit risk.
• Monitors expiring collateral and coordinates with banks or insurance companies to draw on collateral when necessary.
• Processes margin calls with counterparties and clearing firms, resolving margin disputes expeditiously.
• Reviews incoming collateral instruments for accuracy and processes them for approval.
• Coordinates with banks to issue letters of credit when required to post collateral.
• Enters all transactions in the credit risk system for accurate recording of collateral held and posted.
• Performs variance analysis of Risk Management General Ledger cash accounts for financial and audit purposes.
• Represents the Treasury Operations team at companywide meetings regarding policies and documents.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience in an analytical role.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn software systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with energy contracts and risk management related to energy procurement or the CAISO market.
• Knowledge of accounting processes and procedures.
• Experience with macros and database queries.
• Knowledge of Entegrate, Endur, or other commodity trading systems.
• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise-wide ERP system.
• Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow Edison Safety protocols and principles.
