About the position
PulteGroup is a FORTUNE 500 company and one of America's top residential builders, providing the American Dream of homeownership to families for more than 60 years. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform financial analysis to support the Division Ops team in assessing financial and operational performance. This includes feasibility modeling, annual planning, quarterly forecasting, historical cost and budget analysis, and expense performance comparisons.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the feasibility process by preparing models to support the Land and Finance teams
- Assists in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual plan
- Consolidates budget submissions from various departments and performs budget analysis
- Reviews overhead performance and develops benchmarks to monitor performance
- Prepares reports and analysis to management including variance reports and operational metrics
- Prepares monthly journal entries
- Maintains general ledger accounts and prepares monthly reconciliations
- Coordinates work efforts with National Shared Services
- Prepares and maintains supporting documentation for the Division's SOX binders
- Prepares year-end tax package and various financial reports
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent in related field)
- Minimum 2 years general accounting or finance experience
- Knowledge of accounting theory and practice
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under time pressure
