About the position
The Financial Management Analyst position at the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command in Honolulu, HI, is a critical role responsible for implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets. The incumbent will provide expert advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities. This position requires a thorough evaluation of budget requests, controls, and reports of obligations and expenditures, ensuring compliance with financial policies and appropriations laws. The analyst will also be tasked with formulating budget and cost estimates to support the organization's plans and programs, presenting and defending these estimates before relevant authorities. Additionally, the role encompasses a variety of fiscal, accounting, and financial duties, contributing to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.
- Provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds.
- Evaluate budget requests, controls, and reports of obligations and expenditures.
- Formulate budget and cost estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
- Present and defend budget estimates before authorities.
- Perform a variety of other fiscal, accounting, or financial duties and responsibilities.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance.
- Must achieve Financial Management Level I certification within prescribed timelines.
