About The Position

The Financial Reporting Specialist at Prudential is responsible for executing assigned tasks related to financial reporting processes and outputs, while also supervising junior team members. This role focuses on producing timely and accurate financial information, enhancing understanding of investment accounting and reporting, and utilizing financial applications to generate investment data for various deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organized.
  • Demonstrates analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative work.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a complex workload in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services.
  • Knowledge of technical accounting principles and reporting requirements (SSAP and GAAP).
  • Knowledge of investment products.
  • Experience with Prudential Financial systems (Oracle, Essbase, GAAP Supplementals & Financial Statements applications).
  • Supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare statutory investment disclosures for quarterly and annual financial statements filed with state departments and the NAIC.
  • Generate GAAP quarterly results and prepare analysis for Senior Management packages.
  • Conduct investment-related portfolio analysis for business partners.
  • Respond to information requests from various business partners, both standard and ad-hoc.
  • Perform investment-related surveys and analytics for external agencies.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements and efficiencies in reporting.
  • Support annual statutory investment disclosure external audits and SOX documentation.
