About the position

The Business Data Analyst position is a critical role within a Financial Services company, focusing on data analysis and cleanup for a strategic project supporting Issuer Services. The role requires a strong analytical background and the ability to assess and identify trends within data. The analyst will work in a hybrid environment between NYC and Jersey City, NJ, and will be responsible for delivering work under tight timelines while collaborating with a small team to support a larger global project team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data analysis and cleanup to support strategic projects.
• Assess and identify trends within data to inform decision-making.
• Produce structured Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and finalize User Stories.
• Write functional specifications based on business analysis requirements.
• Advise stakeholders on process improvement initiatives.
• Present complex solutions in clear and concise language.
• Drive deliverables independently and manage timelines effectively.

Requirements

• Experience in advanced business analysis and requirements gathering techniques.
• Proven delivery experience in a global project environment with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience in a global/investment banking change environment.
• Strong aptitude for data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Ability to critically evaluate information from multiple sources and reconcile variances.
