About the position

The Financial Services Representative serves as the bank's front-line customer service associate and is responsible for creating a welcoming environment and good impression for our customers. This role is crucial in ensuring that clients feel valued and supported from the moment they enter the bank or reach out via phone. Key job functions include account and service origination, handling teller transactions, as well as responding to customer inquiries by telephone and in person. The representative greets clients as they enter the lobby and is the first person to answer incoming phone calls, setting the tone for the customer experience. In addition to greeting clients, the Financial Services Representative serves customers in opening new accounts for both commercial and consumer clients. This requires a thorough knowledge of bank products to make informed recommendations based on customer needs. The representative will also contact new clients for onboarding activities and assist in consumer loan applications and closings. Performing all teller duties is a significant part of the role, which includes maintaining and balancing a cash drawer, and having knowledge of the ATM, Vault, Coin & Cash, and GL Accounts to be balanced daily. The representative must also be familiar with all dual control procedures to ensure compliance and security. Outstanding customer service is a priority, and the representative is expected to research and resolve client problems, acting as the liaison between clients and other bank departments. Following up with clients to assure resolution is essential for developing and maintaining long-term relationships. The representative actively participates in training programs to maintain and acquire additional job knowledge and skills, ensuring they are well-equipped to serve clients effectively. Additionally, the representative assists in opening and closing the branch, adhering to procedures set by corporate security, and complies with all department and company policies, procedures, audit guidelines, and regulations. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in opening and closing the branch following corporate security procedures.
  • Complies with all department and company policies, procedures, audit guidelines, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Strong math and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to cross-sell products and services.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of client transactions and bank records.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
  • Good phone voice with a professional and well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to interview customers and understand requests.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as computers, typewriters, calculators, and copiers.
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Thorough knowledge of bank operations, products, and services offered at the bank.
  • Knowledge of banking laws and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of one year banking experience.
