About The Position

The Finishing Manager at Graphic Packaging International is responsible for overseeing the safety, quality, and productivity of the Finishing department. This role involves implementing quality assurance procedures, managing personnel, and ensuring equipment maintenance to meet manufacturing standards. The manager will also facilitate communication between direct reports and upper management, develop safety procedures, and maintain product quality and production efficiencies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a folding carton packaging industry or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory/Management experience.
  • Experience working with high volume printing and converting equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and successful cost savings initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SQF prerequisites including GMP, Food Defense, etc.
  • A four-year college degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and facilitate the long-term goals of the Finishing department.
  • Provide training to supervision and resolve production problems.
  • Ensure department personnel issues are addressed, including discipline when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and encourage safe work practices.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures in partnership with the Safety Coordinator.
  • Ensure product quality and production efficiencies meet or exceed established standards.
  • Assist the team in problem resolution and ensure professional testing and product development.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions as required.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or customer complaints to authority.
