About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Firmware Test Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily monitoring and checking of HIL (Hardware in the Loop) results, identifying testing coverage gaps, and maintaining and updating nodes. Additionally, the role involves supporting HIL users by adding new users, training them, and troubleshooting their tests.

Responsibilities

  • Daily check of HIL results through the Central Results Server.
  • Triage and solve test issues within the capabilities of the admin, including equipment failures and common script issues.
  • Identify testing coverage gaps through the HIL Central Results Server.
  • General maintenance and update of nodes, including restarting computers/equipment, updating software/configuration, and changing node configuration.
  • Support HIL users by adding new users, training them on HIL use, troubleshooting their ad-hoc tests, and setting up ad-hoc testing environments (e.g., ESD testing).

Requirements

  • Experience with embedded systems, either in testing or development.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers.
  • Experience with serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, etc.
  • Knowledge of telemetry.
  • Experience with testing automation, including script writing and reading logs.
  • Proficiency in Python, C#, or other high-level/scripting languages (preference for Python).
  • Comfortable with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes (Oscope), power supply units (PSU), digital multimeters (DMM), and relay switches.
  • Basic knowledge of circuits.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with validation, software verification, verification software, and design review.
  • Knowledge of automated unit testing and firmware verification.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy).
