About The Position

The F&K Unwind/Rewind Technician is responsible for preparing and handling paper rolls for printing operations at Graphic Packaging International. This role involves physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading heavy rolls of paper, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. The technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, contributing to the production of paper-based packaging for various well-known brands.

Requirements

• 6 months of previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Prior experience utilizing a pallet jack is highly preferred.
• Ability to stand on concrete flooring for long periods with scheduled breaks.
• Capability to walk around machinery frequently on concrete surfaces.
• Must be able to lift and carry weights of approximately 35 lbs over an average distance of 50 feet.
• Ability to push heavy rolls of paper using a roll pusher or alum-a-lift.
• Must be able to climb a step ladder to change out webbing and bend slightly forward when loading paper into the press.
• Ability to kneel for cleaning tasks or to maneuver buckets.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare paper rolls for printing by receiving, cutting, rolling, and placing them on press equipment.
• Unload printed rolls and manage the loading/unloading of rolls weighing up to 3500 lbs using roll pushers.
• Remove core plugs and metal bands from rolls as needed.
• Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the plant.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
