The Fleet and Equipment Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the inventory, maintenance, and performance of fleet and equipment assets to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. This role plays a critical part in aligning asset availability with revenue requirements and supporting operational efficiency. Develop and implement fleet and equipment asset management processes, ensuring their effectiveness by tracking performance metrics and providing timely feedback to support continuous improvement. Manage asset utilization by strategically allocating fleet and equipment assets across locations to ensure resources are deployed where they are needed most, minimizing downtime, reducing idle assets, and maximizing operational efficiency. Maintain a comprehensive inventory of fleet and equipment assets by managing databases, conducting regular physical audits, and reconciling records to ensure accuracy. Identify discrepancies, track asset movement, and implement controls to prevent loss, theft, or misallocation. Regularly assess asset condition, maintenance history, and costs to determine whether to repair or replace equipment, considering factors like age, usage, and total cost of ownership. Provide technical support and guidance to onsite mechanic and leaders to ensure maintenance shops are clean, organized, and operating efficiently. Conduct regular inspections, implement preventive maintenance programs, and improve shop organization, parts management, and maintenance processes using lean practices. Support the Director of Fleet with special projects, driving initiatives to completion. Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
