About the position

The Logistics Safety Data Analyst will be a key member of the corporate safety team at Penske, focusing on developing advanced safety performance metrics and analytics. This hybrid role involves collaboration with field safety and operational teams to enhance safety management processes and performance. The analyst will manage multiple projects, ranging from ad hoc tasks to large-scale initiatives, and will be responsible for creating and maintaining safety performance dashboards and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement safety performance visualization reports
  • Translate business requirements into visualization dashboards to monitor safety performance
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain all safety performance dashboards and reports
  • Conduct report curation
  • Routinely assess current dashboard/report offerings to ensure relevant and accurate data is provided
  • Triage production issues and provide support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues
  • Act as the primary contact and lead support associate for safety performance dashboards/metrics
  • Create technical documentation for safety dashboards/reports
  • Identify appropriate data sources and work with IT to integrate into certified data source or read-only view
  • Extract, blend, cleanse, and organize data
  • Identify and ameliorate outliers and missing or incomplete records in the data
  • Engage in best practices discussions with other cross-functional team members
  • Evaluate new technologies and determine if and how they can be applied
  • Work on other projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science or related quantitative field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field required
  • 3 years of experience designing and building visualization dashboards using tools like Tableau
  • Familiarity with cloud/database technologies such as Snowflake, Azure, and SQL preferred
  • Advanced dashboard design skills
  • Intermediate data analysis skills
  • Introductory level of SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python)
  • Ability to collect and analyze complex data and translate data insights into action
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong collaboration & organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Familiarity with a variety of cloud/database technologies
