Responsibilities

  • Perform all flight line services to aircraft owners and operators.
  • Welcome customers to the airport/FBO and City.
  • Safely service and fuel all types of aircraft and airport equipment.
  • Handle, store, and work with hazardous materials.
  • Operate various GSE equipment including high voltage GPU's, lavatory service carts, air conditioning carts.
  • Marshal aircraft on arrivals and departures; greet all pilots and passengers.
  • Assist passengers with luggage.
  • Safely tow and position all types of aircraft to and from hangars.
  • Perform regularly scheduled safety checks on GSE and fuel trucks.
  • Perform minor maintenance on airport equipment.
  • Perform custodial duties in the terminal and corporate hangars.
  • Operate hangar cleaning equipment in close proximity to high value aircraft.
  • Unload fuel transport trucks and record fuel distribution.
  • Load aircraft fueling trucks and record fuel distribution.
  • Inspect Jet and Avgas fuel for clarity and contaminants.
  • Monitor ramp area for customer security.
  • Obtain and record differential pressure readings to Flight Line Manager daily.
  • Conduct daily fuel farm and fuel truck inspections.
  • Dip tanks and log results.
  • Actively serve on the rotation of the overnight phone when in use.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Airport Flight Line Specialist Supervisor or FBO General Manager.
  • Comply with all written City policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to assigned work schedule as outlined in City and department attendance policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Two years of experience in a similar position for Flight Line Specialist I.
  • Three years of experience in a similar position for Flight Line Specialist II.
  • Ability to qualify for safe handling of fuel products.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of all types of general aviation and corporate aircraft.
  • Knowledge of towing all types of aircraft.
  • Ability to work shift schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
  • Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.

  • Knowledge of Fixed Based Operation (FBO).
  • Familiarity with on-airport vehicular operations.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to service the public in a diplomatic manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
