About the position

This position is for the Manager of the Flight Test Instrumentation Process Management Team within the Test & Evaluation Directorate of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics based in Fort Worth, TX. The role is pivotal in providing technical oversight for the team, ensuring that the cost and schedule performance of assigned work-scope is maintained. The responsibilities of the team include providing Instrumentation Technical Leadership and oversight across various Lines of Business (LoBs) for F-35, IFG, and ADP Projects. The manager will oversee the instrumentation design quality and release process across these LoBs, ensuring that all instrumentation and data processing proposals are coordinated effectively with technical oversight. Additionally, the role involves managing FTI suppliers for instrumentation development efforts and facilitating FTI Mod Support across LoBs. Risk and Opportunity Management across Flight Test Instrumentation & Data Processing is also a key responsibility, along with championing NBF & Capital requests to enable these projects. The position requires direct interaction with customers, program management, test site leadership, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics senior leadership, and various other stakeholders. The manager will also be responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Occasional travel and overtime may be required, and candidates must be U.S. citizens due to the nature of the work and the facility's access requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Instrumentation Technical Leadership and oversight across Lines of Business (LoBs) for F-35, IFG, and ADP Projects.
  • Oversee instrumentation design quality and release process across LoBs.
  • Instrumentation and Data Processing Proposal coordination and technical oversight.
  • FTI Supplier Management for Instrumentation development efforts.
  • Facilitate FTI Mod Support across LoBs.
  • Lead Risk and Opportunity Management across Flight Test Instrumentation & Data Processing.
  • Champion NBF & Capital requests to enable Flight Test Instrumentation & Data Processing Projects.

Requirements

  • Flight Test Experience
  • New business proposal development experience
  • Technical Project Management experience
  • Engineering/Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
