About the position

The Flight Test Instrumentation Specialist Lvl 2 at Lockheed Martin is responsible for supporting the build, installation/modification, and demodification of instrumentation measurements and supporting equipment on aircraft. This role involves a variety of tasks including metal fabrication, electrical harness fabrication, and maintenance of instrumentation equipment. The position requires strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, and may involve supervisory responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Support the build, install/modification, and demodification of instrumentation measurements and supporting equipment.
• Perform metal fabrication including CNC machining and sheet metal hand forming.
• Fabricate electrical harnesses and install structures and electrical components on aircraft.
• Maintain and remove instrumentation measurements and equipment on aircraft.
• Act as a supervisor during supervision absence when required.

Requirements

• Metal fabrication experience
• CNC machining experience
• Harness fabrication and routing (install)
• Flight Line/Aircraft modification experience
• Strong teamwork skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work with varying levels of management across multiple organizations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a union environment
• Familiarity with SFM, PDM, EDMS.
