About the position

The Floor Technician position at TouchPoint involves maintaining and restoring floors in a healthcare environment, specifically at St. Vincent's Clay County Hospital. The technician will be responsible for operating various types of industrial floor care equipment and utilizing automated cleaning equipment to maintain large areas of flooring. The position requires knowledge of hard-surface floor maintenance, including procedures for stripping, refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and buffing. Additionally, the technician will perform carpet and upholstery cleaning tasks such as shampooing, spot cleaning, and vacuuming. The role is available in both full-time and part-time capacities, with schedules running from Sunday to Saturday, specifically from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM. The company is willing to train candidates who may not have prior experience in floor care, although previous experience is preferred. The position emphasizes the importance of following safety procedures and maintaining a drug-free workplace. Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of principles of hard-surface floor maintenance and use proper procedures on hard floor care including stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing.
  • Operate various types of industrial floor care equipment.
  • Utilize automated equipment for cleaning large areas of floor surfaces.
  • Use proper procedures on carpet and upholstery including shampooing, damp surface cleaning, extractions, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.
  • Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a floor care technician or in a related role preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques required.
  • Knowledge and ability to follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
