About The Position

The Fluid Power Specialist is responsible for driving customer success through effective sales strategies and technical support related to fluid power products. This role involves making joint and solo sales calls, developing training tools for field employees, and coordinating fluid power initiatives within a designated territory. The specialist will also assist in market data collection, set sales targets, and promote digital tools to enhance customer engagement.

Requirements

  • Strong sales experience in an industrial distribution setting, ideally with knowledge of IBT products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift items weighing 50 pounds.
  • 1-3 years of experience with Industrial Process Pumps, Automatic Lubrication Systems, and familiarity with Pneumatic Tools.
  • Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Fluid power certification is a plus but must have the ability to become IFPS Fluid Power certified.

Responsibilities

  • Make joint sales calls to MRO and OEM accounts with other sales staff.
  • Make solo calls on select prospects and specially assigned fluid power accounts.
  • Develop, coordinate, teach, and evaluate training and education tools for field employees.
  • Drive customer success in product application, selection, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate fluid power initiatives with IBT branch locations.
  • Identify, design, and implement fluid power system solutions at end-user accounts.
  • Assist in the collection of fluid power market data and identify opportunities.
  • Help set sales target goals and execute the fluid power marketing strategy.
  • Work with suppliers to grow sales on specific product lines.
  • Foster teamwork and open communication within the team.
  • Assist in developing and delivering product training to customers.
  • Assist account managers with fluid power needs on special projects.
  • Promote eComm, UpTime, and other digital tools.
  • Create a monthly plan for personal sales calls on new and key customers.
  • Follow up with customers to provide high-level service and document inquiries.
  • Report sales activity to the Regional Manager using technology resources.
  • Attend industry trade shows to generate leads and connect with clients.
  • Maintain competitive industry knowledge to identify growth opportunities.
  • Communicate competitive issues to Regional Managers and Business Group Directors.
  • Conduct business ethically and uphold company policies.
  • Complete product training courses as directed by the Regional Manager.
  • Operate company vehicle safely and maintain a clean driving record.
