About the position

The Core Intelligence Analyst at Security Industry Specialists, Inc. (SIS) plays a crucial role in providing security solutions to high-profile clients. This position is based in Austin, TX, and is a full-time role that requires a commitment to monitoring and analyzing real-time open-source incidents across North America. The Analyst will be tasked with gathering information on various threats, including misinformation campaigns, violent incidents, and cybersecurity issues, which may affect the client's assets and reputation. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying emerging risks and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure safety and operational readiness. In this position, the Analyst will utilize various open-source platforms to monitor events and assess their potential impact on the client's operations. This includes conducting damage assessments following violent incidents or disasters and preparing operational briefs for leadership. The Analyst will also be responsible for activating safety checks and maintaining communication with partners to ensure a coordinated response to incidents. The role requires a high level of analytical skills and the ability to synthesize information into actionable intelligence reports. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Political Science, International Relations, or equivalent military training, along with at least two years of experience in research and analysis. Proficiency in both PC and iOS systems is essential, as is the ability to conduct open-source research effectively. The Analyst must be a dependable team player, capable of delivering exceptional customer service and willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor open source platforms and analyze North American events including its impact to assets
  • Conduct damage assessments on violent incidents and human-made disasters
  • Send communications to cross-functional partners and complete safety check activations
  • Create operational briefs for leadership, as requested
  • Identify new and emerging incidents that may pose a risk to the client's people, users, assets, or reputation
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Regional Studies, Strategic Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, STEM or equivalent military/professional intelligence training
  • Two plus years of academic or professional experience in research, analysis, and development of intelligence products/reports
  • Proficiency in PC and iOS hardware and software including word processing, data analysis, presentation, and mapping programs
  • Open source research experience
  • Complete and maintain state guard certification as prescribed by presiding state law, as well as all client requested certification; all documentation and fees are the responsibility of the employee unless otherwise noted
  • Dependable team player with business maturity and enthusiasm with the ability to deliver high level of customer service
  • Flexibility to work any shifts on any day of the week (Mon-Sun) and willingness to assist the team with overtime when needed
