About the position

The Front of House Team Member Pizza Maker at DEATH BY PIZZA is responsible for delivering exceptional service and hospitality while preparing and serving Detroit-style pizza and other menu items. This role involves collaboration with the leadership team and other staff to ensure smooth operations during lunch and dinner services, maintaining high standards of food quality and customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all pizzas and sandwiches to specifications.
• Stock Pizza Station with appropriate ingredients for service and restock for the following day.
• Effectively communicate with all FOH and BOH team members throughout service.
• Interact with genuine hospitality when speaking to vendors and guests, cultivating relationships with regulars.
• Ensure excellent maintenance of the storefront and shared FOH/BOH spaces.
• Get the store ready for daily service, including setup and breakdown of all stations and deep cleaning at the end of service.
• Understand and execute proper steps of service with efficiency and grace.
• Responsible for menu updates in digital systems, including daily updates of item counts and 86's.
• Demonstrate understanding of enlightened sales techniques and inform guests about additional offerings.
• Guide guests through relevant allergies/restrictions with awareness of possible accommodations.
• Stay up to date on all menu changes and share knowledge with the team.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in kitchens and/or service in a restaurant.
• ServSafe Food Handlers License.
• Problem-solving and delegation skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ideally in two or more languages.
• Able to accommodate a flexible schedule.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
