About the position

The Food Service Manager at Aramark is a pivotal management role responsible for developing and implementing innovative dining solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs and tastes of our customers. This position oversees and manages dining operations where customers can order prepared foods from a menu, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience is exceptional. The Food Service Manager will utilize Aramark's coaching model to engage and develop team members, fostering an environment where employees can reach their fullest potential. This includes rewarding and recognizing employees for their contributions, ensuring that both individual and team performance align with objectives and client expectations. Daily team briefings will be planned and led to maintain clear communication and operational efficiency. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Food Service Manager will play a crucial role in client relationship management by identifying client needs and effectively communicating operational progress. Financial performance is also a key focus, as the manager will be responsible for the completion and maintenance of Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, delivering on both client and company financial targets. The manager will adopt all Aramark processes and systems, gaining a thorough understanding of performance metrics, data, and inventory trends, while educating teams on key levers to improve margins. Productivity is another critical area, where the Food Service Manager will bring value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management. Adhering to the Operational Excellence fundamentals, the manager will ensure that the entire team is trained and capable of implementing these standards. Compliance with safety and health regulations is paramount, as the manager will maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees, following all applicable policies and regulations. Additional responsibilities include leading the front of the house operations in conjunction with the Food Service Director, planning, directing, and coordinating food service activities to deliver a finished product that meets customer expectations. Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations
  • Identify client needs and communicate operational progress

  • Deliver client and company financial targets
  • Adopt all Aramark processes and systems, understand performance metrics, data, order and inventory trends; educate teams on key levers to improve margins
  • Bring value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management
  • Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by meeting and maintaining food and labor initiatives
  • Ensure entire team is trained and able to implement
  • Supervise team regarding production, quality and control
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees
  • Follow all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour
  • Lead the front of the house of the dining operation in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities in order to deliver a finished product to the customer

Requirements

  • Requires at least 1 year of experience
  • Requires at least 1 year of experience in a management role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard service model
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other departments to a unified food service experience for all customers
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
