The Food Service Manager provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, assisting food service department managers to present the freshest, most innovative and best quality products at a competitive retail price to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading/unloading heavy items.
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers.
  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Reviews daily production list with department employees and assigns tasks.
  • Ensures food display case product is rotated and replenished.
  • Scans the kitchen area for cleanliness and safety issues and assigns tasks to kitchen staff.
  • Oversees food quality and presentation for all departments.
  • Oversees inventory within all departments.
  • Works with chefs to plan menus and estimate food and beverage costs.
  • Supervises portion control and minimizes waste.
  • Analyzes weekly and monthly sales and trends.
  • Monitors staff and customer actions to ensure health and safety standards are obeyed.
  • Investigates and resolves complaints concerning food quality and service.
  • Arranges for maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Directs hiring, training, and scheduling of food service personnel.
  • Enforces sanitary practices for food handling and cleanliness.
  • Handles and satisfies customer issues.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent experience.
  • One year of similar or related experience.
  • Must possess excellent hospitality skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Sanitation (Food Safety) courses encouraged.
