About the position

The Forensic Structural Engineer will investigate and evaluate the causes and extent of damage resulting from various catastrophes, including storms, natural disasters, fires, explosions, and construction defects. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team of experts. The position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work location while requiring travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and evaluate damage from storms, natural disasters, fires, and other catastrophes.
  • Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations.
  • Work independently and as part of a cross-functional team of experts.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
  • Perform physical tasks such as working in confined spaces and on roofs, and carrying ladders and equipment.

Requirements

  • Licensed P.E. in Oklahoma or eligible by reciprocity.
  • 2+ years of forensic engineering experience preferred.
  • Strong technical writing skills for effective report writing.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for face-to-face interactions.
  • Technical proficiency with computers, phones, and cameras.
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expert Witness experience is preferred.
  • Master of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is highly desirable.
