About the position

The Forklift Operator I at FedEx Supply Chain is primarily responsible for the safe operation of basic powered material handling equipment, excluding the Order Picker, Turret, and Drexel. This role is crucial for product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment, ensuring product safety, quality, and legality throughout the process. The position is based in Lemoyne, PA, and operates on the first shift, with a competitive pay rate starting at $20.03 per hour. In this role, the Forklift Operator I will engage in full case order picking for replenishment, customer orders, and packaging components. Responsibilities include the retrieval and put away of pallets in a narrow aisle bulk rack storage system, performing quality control to ensure the accuracy of all transactions, and loading and unloading pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, either by hand or using equipment. The operator will also sort and build products onto pallets to meet customer expectations and utilize machinery to apply shrink wrap to pallets. Additionally, the operator is expected to perform pre- and post-equipment checklists, maintain the accuracy of storage locations through daily cycle counts, and carry out routine inventory maintenance tasks. Other distribution work functions may be required based on business volume and needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate powered basic material handling equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Must meet all PPE and fall protection requirements.
  • Ability to work on equipment at extended heights.
  • Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and flexibility in meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
