About the position

Hillwood Communities is seeking an FP&A Analyst to join its growing business in our Dallas, Texas Headquarters. The successful candidate will be heavily involved in maintaining and developing financial models for existing residential communities and joint ventures, analyzing each community's performance, and communicating financial results in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis to assess actual performance against budget and forecast.
  • Prepare and distribute regular management reports and dashboards, highlighting key financial metrics, performance trends, and actionable insights.
  • Support strategic financial planning initiatives, including scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and long-term financial projections.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Accounting, Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to gather data, validate assumptions, and ensure alignment of financial plans with operational strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial planning processes, enhance data accuracy, and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and forecasting techniques.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; knowledge of financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including GAAP, financial statements, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Experience in a corporate FP&A environment preferred.
