About the position

The Tech Fundamentals program is a comprehensive and free training initiative designed to equip participants with essential skills for a career in technology. This program offers up to 20 weeks of instructor-led virtual training, providing a flexible learning environment that accommodates the needs of young adults and military veterans. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a paid internship or a project-based learning experience, allowing them to apply their newly acquired skills in real-world settings. Throughout the program, participants will work towards earning industry-recognized certifications, including CompTIA A+ and the Google IT Support Certificate, as well as an IT Generalist Apprenticeship credential. This certification pathway is designed to enhance employability and provide a competitive edge in the job market. Additionally, participants will gain exposure to leading technologies from major companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, and AWS, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of the tech industry. The program also emphasizes the importance of mentorship, pairing participants with senior-level IT professionals who can provide guidance and support throughout their training journey. Employment readiness workshops are included to help participants develop essential job-seeking skills, and job placement assistance is offered to connect them with a wide range of top employers. Furthermore, the program provides access to financial assistance and resources to help with housing, childcare, and other essential needs, ensuring that participants can focus on their training without additional stressors.
