About the position

As a Multimedia Journalist at Spectrum News, you will be responsible for uncovering and reporting stories that matter to your local community. This role involves engaging with community members, pitching, writing, shooting, interviewing, and editing news content across various platforms including TV and digital. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a supportive team to deliver accurate and compelling news coverage.

Responsibilities

• Engage with community members to uncover and report on local issues.
• Pitch, write, shoot, interview, and edit news stories.
• Create compelling content for TV, connected television, and digital platforms.
• Work under tight deadlines and adapt to breaking news situations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate news coverage.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in television news reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or comparable television work experience.
• Ability to shoot videos and understand video editing software.
• Effective communication skills on camera and through writing.
• An innate curiosity and urgency in creating compelling stories.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence.
