About the position
The Freight Agent position at CAM Transport Inc/CAM Logistics Inc is a full-time remote role focused on coordinating and managing freight shipments. The agent will work closely with carriers, negotiate rates, and ensure timely deliveries, playing a crucial role in the logistics and transportation operations of the company.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage freight shipments on a daily basis.
- Work closely with carriers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Negotiate rates with carriers to optimize costs.
- Maintain communication with clients and carriers regarding shipment status.
- Utilize organizational skills to manage multiple shipments effectively.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Knowledge of transportation logistics and freight operations.
- Minimum of two years experience as a freight agent, fleet owner, or in the transportation industry.
Nice-to-haves
- Customer base is a plus/ Book of Business.
